Baby It's (kind of) Cold Outside

We have had the most beautiful weather here in South Florida! Typically when I open my front door I'm met with a wall of humidity. To the point where it's hard for me to tell the difference between air and ocean. Not this week. It's been so lovely I felt compelled to leave the confides of my home and my wifi to step outside.

Style/ outfit posts don't really feel like my "thing" given that my wardrobe mainly consists of leggings and oversized T-shirts. But the fresh air and sweater jacket weather made this post feel mandatory. Along with some snapshots of what I was wearing I've included some of the plants in my backyard, because why not?! If you're reading this mom, yes, I think your flowers are pretty. I just also believe you're a little TOO into it so I will continue to make fun of you. It's totally not because everything I touch dies, and I'm jealous. Yeah, that's totally not it.

Hope you all make your day amazing, and if the weather around you is not so beautiful stay safe. If you'd like to see more style posts let me know, and if you would like to know more details about my outfit you can watch my video here.

Zoeva Vegan Prime Set + Individual Vegan Brush

If you've reached these words then you must have just finished scrolling through the photos above, and I'm sure we can both agree on the absolute beauty that are these Zoeva brushes. So beautiful in fact that it took me two months to dip the silk finish brush into foundation for the first time. I realize that's insane, but what can I say? I'm a sucker for pretty things. The idea of ruining them was unbearable so I was content with staring at clean bristles for awhile.

I suppose by now you have come to the assumption that presentation is very important to me. Zoeva did not disappoint in this department. Not only were their items packaged with love, from the black tissue sealed with their emblem to the plastic placed on individual brushes keeping them protected from damage, but they took a step further by including detailed information on the product. Inside was a small card with the name of the person that checked the quality of the brushes along with contact information to reach out to the company. Never in my years of online shopping have I come across the specific name to reference if anything happened to be wrong with my product. I also found a larger card discussing the brands mission statement which, unbeknown to me, included their work with causes supporting women in need. The brushes you receive are top notch, but you're also supporting a great cause.

Before going into the details of the brushes themselves I feel the dust bag and clutch are worth mentioning. In the past I've received travel cases of sorts with brush sets that were less than impressive. Frankly they were cheap and impractical. The bag that came with this set on the other hand is actually nice! No silly slots you have to squeeze brush handles into. Just a simple, sleek clutch. I'd also like to note that the individual brush I purchased came with its own brush bag that should come in handy when traveling for makeup storage.

After my ramblings I'm sure you're ready to hear about the ACTUAL makeup brushes. All brushes are vegan, and are included in their Vegan Prime Set (aside from a foundation brush which is sold individually in the vegan brushes section). Therefore all are made from synthetic materials as opposed to natural animal fur. Yay for keepin' it cruelty free! The first thing I noticed was how amazingly soft they were, and not the kind of slippery soft that causes your product to go everywhere. That's a nightmare. No one wants to use what can only be described as a duster to apply their makeup in the morning. These on the other hand did a perfect job of evenly distributing product onto my skin. I was shocked at how well my Tarte BB tinted treatment primer blended into my skin. Typically without a damp makeup sponge it can be a pain to apply. Overall I very VERY pleased with these brushes. If you'd like to see them in action you can head over to my youtube channel, lots of makeup tutorials with these beauties will be coming soon!

Fall Inspired Affordable Makeup

Fall has finally graced us with its presence and I couldn't be more excited about it! It's my all time favorite season, and given that I live in Florida I cant necessarily enjoy the changes in nature. So I thought I'd do the next best thing. Change up my makeup routine!

Now I'm not exactly rolling in $100 bills so I opted to go the more affordable route by looking into reasonably priced items. I took a more natural approach as you can see below in my most recent video, but I'd like to do something a little bit more dramatic here on the blog so stay tuned.

The e.l.f. eyeshadow quad I picked up pleasantly surprised me with its color payoff, and quality. They're soft as well as blendable and contained a beautiful range of colors that reminded me of the changing leaves. Would be a great product to throw in your bag, and I'm looking forward to grabbing more of these. The eyeliner was also a good buy. No smudging and easy to apply, which is saying something because you and I both know liquid eyeliner can be a nightmare. NYX lipstick is pretty much always a safe bet. I felt the color I chose was flattering and worked well with my skin tone.

Moving on to products I wasn't too in love with. The NYX Faux Lashes mascara was kind of a dud. The concept was alright, I always love a good fiber mascara, but it ended up getting all over the place. I had little fibers all under my eyes, which is not ideal. The waterproof concealer was actually really nice and I got complements on my skin the days I've worn it. The only thing I would say is consider using it as more of a substitute for foundation or to cover breakouts/ redness as it separated under my eyes. Other than that I'd say for under $20 I did alright!

Products in order of appearance
e.l.f. Small Angled Brush
e.l.f. Professional Defining Eye Brush
e.l.f. Flawless Eyeshadow "Beautiful Browns"
NYX Lipstick "Chaos" #511
NYX Faux Lashes Mascara
e.l.f. Liquid Eyeliner
NYX Incredible Waterproof Concealer

If any of you have tried these products I'd love to hear your take on them. Also if you have any affordable makeup staples that you always HAVE to have in your collection please share!

GLAMGLOW Facial Masque, Is It Worth the Hype?

The Claims vs My Experience

Leaves skin feeling noticeably radiant & glowing
I would describe it more as "fresh" & "clean", but it does leave my skin with a glow as well.

Activates collagen synthesis
I feel like I don't have much of an issue with collagen. Hopeful this will help me out in the future.

Provides gentle resurfacing
100% yes! There's a fun mechanical aspect too (the scrubby pieces).

Helps to leave skin smoother, brighter, & softer
My skin is the smoothest it's ever been! Would work well to prep skin before events or a special day.

Provides tighter skin texture & tighter pores
My skin does feel a little tighter while the mask is on and for a small amount of time afterwards. Tight skin is not a big issue for me personally. As for the pores I do see a difference, I think this is in part due to the exfoliation and resurfacing.

Helps to provide a more youthful appearance
If by "youthful" you mean fresh and glowy, then yes!

Absorbs impurities without removing natural oils
Yes, no dry skin for me.

Helps to protect against free radicals
Somewhat regular use keeps acne at bay.

The Verdict!
I would give it a try! I was somewhat unsure after the first use, you can see this in my First Impressions video on youtube. Now that I've gotten a few more uses out of the masque I've noticed more of the results, and I'm enjoying it. You can REALLY feel it working, and can see the affects afterwards. That's all I can really ask for in a masque.

What do you think? Is the GLAMGLOW Masque worth the hype?

Tarte Golden Days & Sultry Nights

I had my eye on the Tarte collector's shadow palette "Golden Days & Sultry Nights" for what seemed like months, but in actuality was probably only a couple of weeks. With this color selection I couldn't help but find myself gravitated towards it! Everyday it wasn't in my possession kind of felt like a century.
While extremely bright and colorful palettes are fun on occasion they're not exactly my everyday style, and completely neutral palettes can get a bit boring. So this worked perfectly by adding just a touch of color to my everyday look.

Oh! And I also couldn't resist putting up a makeup tutorial. Enjoy!

Urban Decay Naked3 Palette (GIVEAWAY!!!)

This blog has been severely neglected and I've been itching to sit down and write... type? So here I am sharing one of my most frequently used palettes. Okay so the Naked3 is a little unoriginal, anyone that's touched an eyeshadow brush knows what the Urban Decay Naked palettes are. But it's the truth!

Like all Urban Decay shadows the pigmentation's great, and has pretty solid staying power. They're on the denser side so I definitely wouldn't describe these shadows as soft but they blend really well. Other than that there's not much else to say, loving this for natural looks when I want to use more rose tones as opposed to bronze.

Below are swatches. I managed to forget Darkside despite it being one of my favorites, but it's basically a dark brownish grey tone that's great as liner or to add a bit of smokey-ness to your look.

In the process of writing this I've decided to do an impromptu GIVEAWAY! This is kind of terrifying for me because I'm worried no one will enter, but I have an extra Naked3 palette that needs a home so we're going to give it a go. Also I always thought it'd be really cool to do a give away for a small amount of people so your chances of winning are really high! ...I wish I could enter actually.

THE RULES:
  • Follow my blog
  • Comment below your favorite eyeshadow palette
  • & that's it!

EXTRA ENTRIES:
I will be randomly selecting the winner once I hit 50 followers here on my blog (you can learn the ways to follow here), so have fun and feel free to share with your friends!
